I used to actually have just spikes on all of my hair (now just the front). When it was long, it definitely looked like a hedgehog that's ready to kill something.

My dad used to put on his suit and ride through the bike trail every weekend when we lived by a bike trail (which happened to be an awesome one). He still has one of those super-light bikes, but doesn't get to ride as much now because the trail is so far away.

Yeah. As long as that hot Polish girl I work with says, "I like your hair" (without me even asking), I take it as a sign that it looks good. (Same thing with the beard). 
I would honestly rather do a buzzcut, because it's cheaper to do that yourself, but it would probably look awful, so I don't. I also used to have it normal and parted to the side, but it never looked good that way.
