I better start downloading this for my iPad. I wonder how hard it is to do this app. This is so cool! :)

This does look cool. I'll have to ask my Dad to download it since he owns an iPad.

I downloaded it for iPad but haven't tried it yet, been too busy finishing The Walking Dead game  ;D.

It does look cool, bought it mainly for my son who really enjoys music and loves the violin.

Very cool app. For both veterans and newcomers of classical music, musicians and non-musicians. The included picture is shown while listening to the March from Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique. The top left has colored dots that represent the orchestra sections and are highlighted when they play. The next screens are live images of the conductor and various sections of the orchestra. The score is the neatest part, you can choose between full score or curated score which focuses on instruments with prominent parts during each moment of the piece and will automatically place those instruments parts in view. There is also written and video commentary of the work, featuring Salonen.

Wow a reason to finally spring for an iPad.

This hasn't been done before on PC or Mac?

I don't know as an app, but a few years back I could download music 'in score' and as it played there was a moving bar that followed and kept your place. IIRC, this was some sort of Flash thing. I thought it was fascinating and would agree with those who like this. Although not enough to make me get a iPad.... :D

Several other pieces featured are Haydn Sym.6, Debussy's Faun, Mahler Sym.6, Salonen's VC (must have been in his contract to feature one piece of his if he participates) and a few others. The instrument section is very detailed. Members of the Philharmonia explain a bit about the instruments.

None of the stuff or info with the exception of several of the scores is new to me, but I'm still enjoying the heck out of it. Not to be too bias, but definitley one of the most impressive apps for the iPad.
