I'm thinking of buying Furtwangler's 1954 (Lucerne) recording of Beethoven's 9th.
There appear to be four options:

Tahra "Furt 2001" (SA-CD although I'd only be interested in the CD layer)
Music & Arts "MACD790" (remastered in 2007 by Aaron Snyder, supposedly better than their previous release)
Archipel "ARPCD0502" (heard nothing about this one)
Pristine Classical "PASC261" (download available in both "ambient stereo" and mono).

I've seen that the first two get the thumbs up, but I haven't read any views on the last two.
If anyone happens to have more than one of these, which do you feel is the best transfer?

Thanks,
Bluto

Holden

I've only got the Tahra so can't compare it to the others. I'm happy with the sound for a 1954 performance.
Cheers
