I'd bet even money it's some Pacific Rim language, which can (I'm sure we'd be told) express some sort of abstraction beyond that which the uptight, mind-control Western tongues can. Of course, everyone knows that the Western languages from Attic Greek to Latin to Spanish (and so on and so forth, even including Rätoromanisch and Basque) are so button-down that they've never produced any "real" emotion or abstraction. They only further Apollonian repression.

Oh, yeah.

Perhaps if he payed more...

"Si, si, senorita, entiendo que soy feo, todas las senoritas inglesas dicen eso tambien, pero tengo mucho mucho dinero - che? Non es bastante? Pero soy el gran filosofo colorado como queso de Inglaterra y es un gran honor para ti mamar mi..."

Sorry, that's all the Spanish I know.

If you weren't programmed out of appreciating the Dionysian aesthetic, you'd have seen the flaw in your reasoning immediately. Cast of thine Apollonian shackles, ye!  >:D

Notice also that the slapping penguin strangely doesn't cast a shadow on the slapped penguin as he passes.

Yeah... but I wouldn't say it's an honor... if he is paying the chick for doing that.

A friend once told me he was impressed about his flirting capabilities, as one night he approached one of those hot women we think only hollywood actors can dare to date; they kept an interesting chat, and she finally invited herself to my friends place. Once there, she asked a small monetary fee to proceed. And yet, my friend lists that as flirting victory.

Sean, if you were looking for what we all know you were looking for, going to Peru and Bolivia is an awful choice...

awful.

Again, the prettiest women are here.

Last week, while going to university to take a final exam of Microeconomics, my walk was hijacked by a group of teenagers (about 16 years old all of them) who   sang to me as I passed by something like:

"co-co-co comeme la almeja" (Iconito may translate thisfor you guys)

and all the 7 girls shaked their chests and bottoms while doing this.

Where is, dearest Sean, their catholic repression?

My repression was present indeed. I told them in other circumstances I would kindly accept their offer, but the exam had already been scheduled.  0:)

Sorry, my Spanish is very rudimentary (basically what I pick up here and there as a member of the English speaking minority in Southern California). What I meant to say was something like that he doesn't have enough money to pay them because they say he is ugly just like the English girls and his money is not enough even though he thinks it may be an honor to suck...and that's where my vocabulary ran out.

Really? Are there no hot girls there? The lead singer from Aroma is from Bolivia, too. Or was that Colombia?

Well, that actually does sound a lot like repressed Catholic schoolgirls...but that still doesn't reinforce Sean's point. What does that mean? Is that an invitation to consume seafood or to deliver oral pleasure? Or both?

Now I get it.
Yeah... money is great, but doesn't make miracles.  ;D

No real seafood involved...

They also need to stop speaking that pathetic Spanish language that keeps their thinking down.

There is a lot of crap and bull***t on this forum but this one tops it all.

Ever heard of Cervantes, Unamuno, Ortega y Gasset, Borges, Vargas Llosa and Garcia Marquez, Mr. Wiseguy? They thought in Spanish more than you'd be able to think in English even if you lived a thousand years. ;D

Enough alcohol in blood may revert the terms of that equation.

Buzz is like inflation, the real perceptions of those who relate in the market are distorted and the result of such transactions is sub-optimum... for at least one of the participants.

True, but classy girls know when to stop drinking.

That's not a problem Sean's ever likely to run into.

What did I do wrong? The text was meant from Sean's perspective, with him speaking (not that he speaks any Spanish, I guess, since it's apparently to "repressed" for him).

I think I heard of all these authors, except the last one: Mr Wiseguy. His name doesn't really sound Spanish to me, but what do I know? What did he write?

"Comeme la almeja" is one among many figures of speech widely used in Argentinean poetry (resembling the kennings found in Anglo-Saxon literature) and it's nearly impossible to translate literally (or, better yet, a literal translation wouldn't make much sense...) But it's like one lover (in this case, a woman) saying something like "show me you care about me" or "show me I'm really important to you"... Of course this is a very common concern among lovers, and there are plenty of expressions to convey the same thing, like "avisame cuando estés por acabar" o "sacámela que me cago"...
It's your language. I'm just trying to use it --Victor Borge
