I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

So Jens, is that disk a CD-R? We have been told elsewhere that Sony's CD-R's have that blue frame. Possibly someone with disk in hand could clear that up. :-\

This is true -- there are apparently US-Market on-demand re-releases, and they have this blue frame. And it's very confusing... because by all appearances, this CD has NOT been re-issued. Or rather, with its release date of 2011 it HAS been re-issued and is already no longer available, even as a on-demand CDR?

In any case, I suspect that if you buy it used (and/or from 3rd parties new), you have a good chance of getting the real thing. In any case one might want to inquire beforehand.
I have the real thing (as it were), because I bought it on the 3rd Party market in Germany.

I've amended the links (for the UK & Germany) & picture to reflect better what's available and where.

Thanks for the excellent explanation. I am guessing that my chronic habit of buying things from the 3rd party market as a first choice has inadvertently steered me clear of these. Babe in the freakin' woods.... :)

Hi Dave, you know I love the the series, of which I gathered five out of seven volumes so far. Analekta is not a cheap label... :(

Compared to contemporary and stylistically related keyboard output by Händel and Telemann, Graupner does very well IMO - his style is highly varied and versatile: it shows depth as well as virtuosity and takes in all kind of influences from outside of Germany, particularly France. Perhaps some might find Graupner's style too fussy or fickle, but I love the stuff. :D

Hi Q - I really enjoy Graupner - decided to listen to his orchestral works today (some shown below).  Yesterday, I ordered Soly's 3rd & 4th volumes and yes Analekta is not the cheapest label, but found a MP vendor who had them for $12 + the usual $4 S/H - had a $50 gift card and threw in some Blu-ray movie DVD replacements, so getting about $5 off on each item.  Dave :)

A mixture of joy and terror. That's maybe a good thing for a pentecostal chorale, I don't know, I'm not a christian. But I know that this is a very interesting performance.
