Yes, I love Elly still.  And forever.  Funny you should mention Emma Kirby, have been considering her Complete Recitals on Decca.

For me that set was a must, were it not for the fact that I have most of them already.
Very worthwhile to have though!
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Great recording, NikF. Love all three of those ballets.

Spending time with the products of Chopin's excursion to Majorca:

Op.38 Ballade
Op.40 Polonaises
Op.39 Scherzo

Yeah, but I gather for him the weather was pretty terrible.

CD 1

Louis Spohr - Nonet in F major op. 31, Octet in E major op. 32

More introspective and less light music than one would expect from such a combination. Spohr is an interesting composer whose music I´m going to explore more systematically after finishing this boxset.

Then I would recommend his Symphonies as they are recorded for CPO, almost all budget priced.

Langgaard: String Quartet 1 (Nightingale String Quartet) via spotify. My first listen to Langgaard aside from "Carl Nielsen, Our Great Composer," which probably shouldn't count and didn't give me much basis for expectation. This is enjoyable, and maybe more than that.

Indeed, among Liszt's best IMHO. I urge anyone who enjoys this composition to explore the reduction for solo piano (by Liszt himself), which Jan Michiels recorded  beautifully (interspersed with Beethoven 's The Creatures of Prometheus, more Liszt, Nono etc.) in this great album:

Duly noted, thanks.
