I am not always a fan of boy sopranos but this one is particularly well sung.

Looks interesting. The only Pienaar I have and know is this:

which is very good.

Can't imagine a better performance/recording of the Bartok 4th String Quartet than the one by Cuarteto Casals on this disc:

That's not Fischer-Dieskau on the cover, it's Kempe.
Veit Bach-a baker who found his greatest pleasure in a little cittern which he took with him even into the mill and played while the grinding was going on. In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach

Talk to me a bit about why you like it so much. I know the performance, I've not been able to get into it at all. (I know that may be hard and I won't mind if you just ignore this post!)

On now. More of the Beecham magic. A wonderful collection. I love the mysterious opening to Paris. This is usually one of my least favourite works by Delius. Beecham brings out the poetry of the piece like no one else, imho! His performances of Arnell and Berners are superb. A shame that a score as good as Arnell's Punch and the Child should have been neglected in later years. I've always liked Berner's The Triumph of Neptune. It is an utterly delightful score. :) :) :) :) :) :)
