JS Bach: Coffee Cantata [Hogwood]....

I think Coffee Cantata is one of the only cantatas from Bach that I've heard. The music's not bad...
"Javert, though frightful, had nothing ignoble about him. Probity, sincerity, candor, conviction, the sense of duty, are things which may become hideous when wrongly directed; but which, even when hideous, remain grand."

Nice!

Me likes 'em. Did I ever tell you 'bout the time the Library Director caught me listening to Pierrot Lunaire at 11:00 PM in the listening room when I was supposed to be at the Circulation Desk (actually, it was my break).  No? Well, count yourself lucky!

But surely you are at liberty to do as you please on your break?  Tyranny!

I think Coffee Cantata is one of the only cantatas from Bach that I've heard....

That is interesting.
I believe that JS Bach did some of his best work in the Cantatas.

Interesting; I have not heard Café Zimmermann perform any of Vivaldi's music. How do they do?

I take this thesis seriously, although . . . I have yet to address myself to a proper survey of them . . . .

I'm certainly no expert, but I think they're superb. Sharply and enthusiastically performed.

I'll be interested to compare it to the Biondi performances I recently purchased, part of which cover the same ground.

Thank you for that.
Please post any comparisons that you might make. That would make for very interesting reading  ;)
