Handel: Armida Abbandonata....

The strong, resonant singing of Murray is a delight in these works.

The first 4 minutes have been extremely promising. And now myself and my portable CD player are off to bed for the rest.

According to a reliable source this is her second Froberger recording. The first was made for Astrée 1976.

I think it's just Qobuz who put the wrong date, I just played it through their streaming service and it's the first recording. The transfer has been very well made.

Ah, thanks - that explains why I was searching for a CD in vain ... either way, I shall explore what Froberger is around in more depth before looking for more (that includes the Stella box, which only recently arrived, as well as discs by Kenneth Gilbert, Rousset, Rampe and more).

I think I was unclear. She made three Froberger recordings (1976, 1989 and 2000) all for Astrée.
Which one of these is the rereleased?

1989. I had forgotten about the 1976. Do you have a transfer of it you could let me hear?

You are very good at this stuff!

No, I do not own the recording from 1976. The information stems from a reliable source.

This is the recording from 1976:

According to the source it seems as if it was later released on LP by Astrée, but so far I have not seen any CD release.

Great stuff, Sarge. I think I'll join you in some Bernstein, but only his Serenade from this fantastic set:
