Hi Karl,
I actually did struggle through the first 6 CDs for some reason but I did enjoy No.7/8/9/10 this week-end... not sure if it is down to the works or just me being more receptive this time round..I guess in part it initially suffered the comparison from the enjoyment I was/am getting from the Scarlatti/Ross (apples and oranges probably, but it still did...).

I'll leave them aside for now and re-start a run in a few months time again.

First listen to this disc, which was kindly sent to me by Tony quite a while ago, with his recommendation. Really enjoyable, brilliant and charming music!! :)

Was listening to that a bit in my truck earlier, what I heard was nice. The Lyric Opera of Chicago is playing Parsifal next season, I've never seen a Wagner opera live, might have to make this one my first.  :)

I think it was an excellent Parsifal, wonderfully performed both by the orchestra and the singers; Pape and Kaufmann were absolutely great. ;D This music is so hauntingly beautiful, so solemn and intense that it always brings me into a heavenly dimension when I listen to it.

That's great, go and see it if you have the chance! Seeing Wagner's operas live is an amazing experience. :)

I also heard some of this in my car earlier today. I agree it sounded special.
