Brilliant!  Certainly worth the $4 it cost me shipped, even though I'll probably end up buying the box set.

I've also listened to this tonight, which unfortunately, was not as good:

I wanted another interpretation to compete with Herreweghe's second recording and this...does not.

I'll be listening to this soon:

Munch does Saint-Saens #3, Debussy, Ibert; not the linked SACD, but a CD from the Living Stereo Collection box.

Pleasant to wake up to some pleasures of the third Saint-Saens, which I found pleasant but innocuous the last time I tried it.  The climbing figure in the opening minutes of the second movement, leading into the first first (??) entrance of the organ, is really moving for me.  The sub-bass throb of the organ later is startling and shoots through the soaring saccharine (not a bad thing for me) of the strings with an uneasiness.  I might need to finally get into the S-S symphs.....

Listening to Sinfonia Tapkaara. Great!

One of those recordings. . .

One that I have been in awe of from the moment I first put it on.  Literally spellbinding.

Purchase of the year thus far for me:

MENDELSSOHN:       Octet                         / Heifetz, Piatigorsky, Primrose and others

A beautiful version of great, great artists. But I prefer the discipline, the dynamic of the extraordinary version of the Smetana & Janacek Quartets together.

Sorry to hear when one of our local bands disappoints!  I do not know this recording.

Word just in that my order has been delayed (which I knew already from checking the site).

I suppose the good news is, that the word was delayed and not cancelled!

Hindemith, String Quartets vol. 2 (Nos. 5-7)  Amar Quartet (on Naxos)

First listen to these works.
Some of it is good, some of it interesting but doesn't connect with me.  And some of it, unfortunately a large part,  seems like Bartok on one of his lesser days.

For what it's worth, Karl, their Brandenburg Concertos are excellent, as is their Monteverdi - Vespers recording.  I do hope you make it to their performances once in a while. :)
