Yes, Atterberg's music strikes me as a highly successful blend of Nordic atmosphere and Slavic passion. Be sure to check out what I believe are his best works: Symphonies 2, 3 and 5 and the Piano and Violin Concertos. That said, you'll find something to treasure in everything Atterberg penned! :)

My own favorite Atterberg would be the Symphonies 3, 5, 6, and 8, and Suite No. 3 (for violin, viola, and orchestra). The violin concerto is pretty good but I'm not so big on the other two concertos.

This box set is a treasure trove of musical delights. Listening to Ponce's Violin Concerto right now.

Funny how I - despite having seen that on Amazon several times and having read the interviews - only now realized that it's not lute music..
What do you think of the disc, Que?

Great choice  :D You are very tasteful when it comes to Mozart   ;D

:D ;)

Do you have an opinion, either way, about its authenticity? Composed by Mozart or not?

Enjoying the 6th this afternoon, listened to this set a couple of times over the last few years.  Not bad at all.  Sound is loud and open in places but doesn't detract from some half decent 'night out' performances.  Opera conductor, done well.

Wurttemberg Philharmonic : Roberto Paternostro

These are all live performances.

Anyone know if there is another complete Bruckner "Live" cycle?  Done or ongoing?

A Survey of Bruckner Cycles

Maazel's cycle is recorded live...  Andreae's probably is 'radio-live',

I think, but don't know, that Asahina III is live... Blomstedt's Leipzig cycle is definitely live. Don't know about Bosch OTOMH, but imagine it might well be.

All the live Wand and Celi cycles are not complete.

Cheers Jens, I was suprised to realize that I have 14 of the listed sets within your review.  I have the Maazel and Asahina ripped but haven't listened to the former (I should have also realized that Ashahina would be live), most of his great recordings are.  I recently bought his Pathetique (live)  Good reading.

And please accept my apologies for last time.
