Some more Gouvy is in order. This guy needs some promoting, lest he should sink again into obscurity, and we would not want that, now would we?

Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Haydn, Joseph (1732-1809) - String Quartets, Op. 33 - decided to compare the first two groups below; also have the two boxes w/ probably my favorite group in these works, i.e. Quatuor Mosaïques - Dave :)

Arditti Quartet and Brian Ferneyhough discuss the 6th quartet, and rehearse it. This 6th quartet of Ferneyhough's always makes me think of Beethoven's 14th quartet. All the complexity is completely wasted on me, I just hear very beautiful and moving  music (like in Art of Fugue I suppose.)

Hmm, a Buchberger Haydn journey seems very tempting (as I have not listened to them for quite a while).....     :)
I tend to lean on Angeles and Kodaly as a cycle, but have fond memories of Buchberger (a more raw timbre if I recall correctly).

Mmm, it has been a while since I've listened to JB's DC in a minor.  Will do when I get home, whist munching on me veggies and fruit.  8)

Ok, fine. I'm interrupting Debussy's "Le Martyre de Saint-Sebastien" for the double. Third movement only!

EDIT: I forgot that the second theme of the third movement reminds me a little of the "Academic Festival Overture".

Just arrived for a first listen. Believe the hype, this is the Ockeghem Requiem to own. Amazingly colorful and rich tone, Velimir's comparison in Ockeghem's Office is spot on.

This is simply amazing music.

It makes me think of Speghetti Western music.
