A new acquisition. Listening to Symphony No. 1 in C minor, "The Bells of Zionice," B. 9. This may be only the second time I've heard this work. I'm really enjoying it. Wonderful melodies.

I finally got around to Tchaikovsky 5 in the Silvestri Icon box, because who needs to rush to hear yet another 5, when I have several great ones. Well, wow. This is really great one, somehow just a bit different without being eccentric, poised without losing intensity.

Update. That was sensational. You can sense his complete control, but it's always spontaneous.

Now, Liszt, Tasso. Quite fine.

I've decided that a recording of The Execution of Stepan Razin is something I would like to add to my collection at some point. This one seems to get pretty good reviews.
