Nice little haul there. I received that Yuja Wang Ravel recording earlier this week. I haven't heard it yet. Let me know how that Le sacre du printemps recording is as well as Elder's A Sea Symphony. I've read great things about that Elder recording.

I liked this cover, even before discovering the hidden message :-) For once a really original CD cover.

I have a quite clear positive view of all these, having sampled extensively through Apple Music (as I always do these days). Elder's VW1 is quite excellent, even though I feel the extravagant praise some reviewers have showered it with is attention-seeking hyperbole. The first movement could use some more thrust and Katherine Broderick's voice is not to my liking, but neither facts are deal-breakers. The Scherzo, in particular, is superb. I'll have more to say upon "official" delivery and listening sessions.  8)

Currentzis' Le sacre du printemps is raw, elemental and thrilling. I listened to parts of it in the car the other day and its vehemence, excited rhythms and fresh sonorities provided a quite suitable soundtrack to Athenian traffic.

Yuja Wang does very well in the Ravel concerti, especially the G major.

Same with me...although I spent the last two minutes trying to work out where the message was! It wasn't until I quickly scrolled up that I noticed something different as my eyes went out of focus for a split second.....

Yes, I do believe Elder's RVW series with the Halle have been hit/miss. I love his recordings of Symphonies 3 & 8, Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and Five Variants on Dives and Lazarus. I obviously haven't heard his Sea Symphony yet nor have I heard the complete incidental music The Wasps. Have you heard The Wasps per chance? I've been curious about this one for a few years.

Good to hear about Currentzis and Wang. Must hear the Wang soon.

This stuff seems to run out of print, so I decided not to wait any longer...

I already received "The Legend of Gustav Leonhardt".

I don't quite get how amazon works. This set was dirt cheap at amazon.it (about 22 EUR + 4,xx shipping, it was back at 32 already a few hours after I ordered). amazon.de lists it as "Import" for EUR 58. I cannot tell for sure but I do not think my set was shipped from Italy. It says "Allemagne" (not "Germania") on the address sticker but also amazon.de and "Hermes_dom" (probably for "domestic") and the return address is also in Germany.

It contains 8 secular Bach cantatas, the Ascension and Easter oratorios on the first 5 disc. One disc has a reconstruction of a St. John Baptist Vespers based on pieces from Monteverdi "Selva" as well as some other early 17th century composers. Another one is a suite from Rameau's "Paladins". The remaining 8 is Leonhardt solo, 1 disc clavichord, the rest harpsichord (with half a disc on the organ and some pieces on virginals).

The European branches of Amazon have different prices, but ordering from one, the item may be shipped from any of them.

Bought last night at FNAC on Avenue des Ternes in Paris (which still has a rather impressive classical CD section):

Not that I really needed yet another set of the Debussy Préludes, but I was impressed by Francesco Piementosi in concert last year (Beethoven's First piano concerto, with La Sérénade interrompue as an encore)...

May not count as a SDCB, but the Bruggen Mozart set is $39.99 this weekend only at Arkivmusic.

Ordered a couple of other things as well.

Hmmm.

I will be glad to report, but bear in mind I know nothing about the performers and have never heard a note of the music before now.
