Finally found a record store in Atlanta (Thanks to John, M.I.) They had a very good collection, mostly used records. Only two of the records I bought were duplicates of CD's I already own, but they were between $3-$5 so I couldn't resist.

What a wonderful haul with much enjoyment to be had  8)

That one looks interesting.  Please report on it when you have a chance.

I think you'll like the Dufay, the Petrassi, and the Brautigam.  I have the Egarr, but don't have a solid opinion on it.

A perfect scenario of the power of GMG. I just saw you post this disc from Ensemble Syntagma, HIPster, sampled it and about a minute in I ordered it. Sounds wonderful. Thank you, and to Harry, for the rec.  :)

A few other purchases. My Rach-athon of late led me back to this Vespers from the Phoenix and Kanses City Chorales. My first impressions were not positive a few months back. I felt that too much emphasis was put on the interpretation rather than allowing the music to naturally flow. But I have approached it differently now, realizing that my years of preference got in the way, and now I can hear an immense beauty arising from it, a different sound of spirituality.
Janacek's lovely string music, and Jansons/St. Petersburg performing Rach's 3rd and Dances. Which Dances is now close to rivaling Berlioz's symphonie fantastique, Bruckner's 6th, and Haydn's 45th as the most represented piece of music in my collection.

My first Respighi disc:

[asin]B0000273ZN[/asin]
I heard "Fountains of Rome" on radio a few days ago and liked it. I remember hearing Respighi 20 years the first time, but somehow this composer never made an impact on me until now. Respighi is the hero of Salvatore Di Vittorio, whose Naxos disc I enjoy a lot.

This Naxos disc seems to be very good and it's also practically free when bought used.  8)

I am quite looking forward to hearing it myself. I will of course post thoughts as soon as I hear it.

I thought a performance of the Seventh with the Boston Symphony was the worst Bruckner I'd ever heard, but the main reason I wouldn't touch that Third is because of the version (1889).

Not trying to give you second thoughts so much as simply make sure you haven't only heard good things...

The seller canceled this, but I'm getting the Böhm disc from the same seller.

I have a different Buxtehude/Glen Wilson disc, I believe, which is excellent.

Edit

No, it is Sweelinck, and I should be embarrassed to confuse Buxtehude and Sweelinck  8)
