Samples sounded very good indeed! Should arrive in time for Christmas.... :)
I got the impression that a period organ was used?

Q

YES.

Instrument used:
Jean-Pierre Cavaillé, 1782-1789.
Positif dorsal pipework installed by Alain Sals in 1984.
Tempérament mésotonique a 6 tierces justus d'après Dom Bedos.
Diapason LA=415 Hz environ.
I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

Price dropped to £0.99+shipping so I pulled the trigger

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Today, I purchased two Bohuslav Martinu recordings--a set of his complete works for violin & piano (which will compliment my recording of Josef Suk playing Martinu's Violin Sonatas 2 & 3, and Five Madrigal Stanzas), and a one act ballet, entitled "The Butterfly that Stamped" (which I heard on You Tube & liked):

https://www.amazon.com/Martinu-The-Butterfly-That-Stamped/dp/B0000260HO/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1512163910&sr=1-2&keywords=martinu+butterfly

Allow me to recommend Martinu's cello sonatas.  Underrated and overlooked, IMHO.  If you like the violin sonatas, I suspect you'll also dig the cello sonatas.  There is a version on Hyperion (I think) with Isserlis; highly recommended.

Isserlis did several recordings.  The one I prefer is on the BIS label with Olli Mustonen.  There is a Sibelius piece (Maliconia) and the Mustonen cello sonata which serve as interlude.  This give some air to breathe between Martinu's compositions.

;)

JPC's prices on their home label (CPO) are often unbeatable.

Yes, but the shipping charge to the US (about 13€) is a bit steep, and means I need to build up my order with them to make it worthwhile.

I got those two sets not too long ago (also form jpc). As opposed to other GMGers, I am finding quite a bit to enjoy in the Milhaud symphonies (of which I previously only knew a handful).

Do let us know you impressions, Jeffrey, once you've explored these works.

Yes, I remembered at least one person here liked them!

Ah, very good.  I'll have to be on the lookout for that one.  Thanks!

They have changed their shipping approach. It now adjusts depending on the order, although the initial charge is EUR3.0. Still, you can make smaller orders work now.

Indeed?! Hopefully I will remember that the next time.

Arkivmusic has a few SDCB's on Sony budget boxes.  The French set was only $7.49, the Menuhin the only set in this order that was more than $13.99.

Somehow I missed "L'incoronazione di Dario" when I started searching for volumes of the Vivaldi series I didn't yet buy ... it's the second Vol. 18 in the "opere teatrali" sub-set of the series, after "Catone in Utica", so as I used those numbers as reference, I thought I had all the operas around now ... but "Catone" is Vol. 55 of the "Tesori del Piemonte" series, while "Dario" is Vol. 58 ... either way, now that the series continues, maybe older volumes will also come back or at least stay in print for another while, who knows.

Live broadcast recordings, in good sound (if one is to believe Amazon reviews), with the great voice at its refulgent best.

Symphony no 1 and the glorious 3rd violin sonata were missing in my collection. 3rd version of symphony 2 and 2nd of no 3, both works I like very much indeed. American conductor Lawrence Foster is an Enescu specialist, born of romanian parents.

Nowak is the dynamic principal conductor of the Royal Philharmonic.
