Just bought:

The Braunfels Te Deum was the one glaring omission from your recent Braunfels purchases  ;). Unless you have another version, that is. The Stokowski America is very fine, better than Schwarz'.

I think he actually got a photo of the CDs going in the package from BIS' CEO, and a hint that there would be a surprise bonus disc. RvB is famously frugal so he may have used the slowest postage system available  ;D

Yes, RvB sent me this:
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

And considering that you're right next door, it doesn't make any sense at all. I hate to say this, but it's probably lost unless you have a tracking number.

Yeah, I expected to get the package in a week. The shipping was no less than 11 euros! At those prices the delivery should be super-fast!

Thanks, Andre. This will be my only recording of Braunfels' Te Deum. That is great to read about this Bloch America recording with Stokowski. I've actually been looking at it for quite some time.

It's strange it's taking so long.

Well, that's a delay for sure then, cf. also the 'Prioritaire/1st Class' label. We have them here too.

Yep. The only explanation that comes to my mind is Easter which slowed post services down...

There may be many things wrong with Amazon but by and large at least stuff gets to you.

By and large. Except when it doesn't (once) or when it turns out they're selling you a CD-Rom (3 times, one of which Amazon itself didn't know it was selling a copy from ArkivMusic) or when they decide they can't possibly ship anything at all to an entire country (millions of times collectively, can't remember how many times personally before the policy partially improved).
Nobody has to apologise for using their brain.

I really enjoyed the Rubbra PC, Jeffrey. One of the better British PCs I've heard.

Me too John, although the new Lyrita CD features a shorter work by Rubbra.

Ah, okay. The only other Rubbra work in my collection besides the PC is the Sinfonia Concertante (on Chandos w/ Shelley and Hickox).

The Naxos releases don't disappoint either, but I feel more authenticity in these performances.
The current annihilation of a people on this planet (you know which one it is) is the most documented and at the same time the most preposterously denied. The terror IS REAL more than ever!

Good to know. I own the Judd Naxos recordings, but I feel it's time to hear some different performances.
