I grabbed a Cleveland Quartet box from Amazon as well! $40 for 23 discs is a great deal. Also threw this in as I had a credit to my account from a returned purchase:

So much great music, so little time...

A Roberto Sierra CD on Koss Classics

I already have some of his Naxos CDs.  Alerted to the existence of this CD by Dave Hurwitz (at the 7 minute mark):

It was only a few bucks on Amazon, so I grabbed it.

Ooh, thanks. I just ordered a copy. Sierra is almost an automatic buy for me.

Purchased yesterday evening:

This limited edition seems to run OOP. Since I've heard a few Stravinsky performances by Chailly live at the Concertgebouw and was hugely impressed, I couldn't let this one go...

I finally received the Nott Mahler set!  It only took a month from when I ordered it. ::)

This is an outstanding set! Chailly rarely puts a foot wrong in Stravinsky. I hope you enjoy it!

Oooh, this must have the Dvorak Cello Concerto with Previn that I listened to (and thoroughly enjoyed) yesterday! It's now on my radar... and I'd consider a purchase if I hadn't already ordered this (speaking of Previn):

A lot of good stuff in here...

That Previn box is full of gold.

The Schiff box is one that has long hovered on my radar as an "if the price drops..." From what I hear, the Dvorak and Shostakovich are definitive.

Usually a passive reader of these posts, I thought I might suggest another Schiff box, curated by himself before his passing. It includes both his classic Dvorak and Shostakovich and other Philips recordings, but also recordings unavailable elsewhere, both as cellist and conductor. It can be had through Amazon (here).

Ordered from Amazon Spain for $70.
It's all good...

Landed this morning.  $40 is a nice enough price for the LvB, so all the others are freebies.  I did not know that 18 of the 23 discs are first CD releases until I saw the sticker.

But his best work is on EMI (the Bach Suites). I didn't realize he recorded for Universal. :(

I've been enjoying Still's symphonies on Naxos recently.

His disc of the Shostakovich cello concertos is still one of the best.

From FNAC in Lisbon, at bargain basement prices (must sube some overstock, as both are in the EMI livery, not Warner):

I have ver little John Ogdon in my collection (only one volume of the "Great Pianists of the 20th Century" series with the Busoni Plano Concerto, which is impressive) and much of the repertoire in this box interests me, so this was a no-brainier.

For Zemlinsky's piano music, which is completely unknown to me (the orchestral songs disc has been in my collection since it was first released).
