Just bought:

Of course, I bought this Takács recording for the Janáček. I don't care anything about the Smetana nor have I ever been a big fan of his music in general.

Another great haul of vinyls!!!

Wow...that's a great haul, indeed, Greg! Enjoy!

So far, so good. Still have a few to test, but considering the price I paid for a few of these I'd be alright if they weren't in pristine condition.  8)

Looks terrific. How are you enjoying your vinyl experience so far?

Ordered these from mdt:

I've had this in my cart for months, waiting for the price to drop.
I might as well have wished for an early spring - it just won't happen  >:(
So I blinked and gave in. At least this is music I really care for.

I really don't need another recording of these works, but please let me know what you think of these performances, erato.

Not one, but two recordings of Verdi's La forza del destino, bought from Berkshire at bargain basement prices.

This live recording from the Teatro di san Carlo in Naples is long OOP, and it allegedly captures that operatic meteor that was Elena Souliotis at her peak. The rest of the cast is mostly unknown to me (as is the conductor).

This studio recording features Adriana Guerrini, a soprano who had a distinguished career in the late 40s and early 50s, but then lapsed lapsed into oblivion.

Wise words from Que:

Never waste a good reason for a purchase....  ;)

I really shouldn't stop at the "Club de Amigos del Disco" on the way home from work  :-[. In any case, these long OOP CDs seemed to be waiting there for me (used, and being offered for a song):

Just bought:

I bought this via eBay for $12 (w/ free shipping) brand new, sealed. Can't beat that since this recording is OOP I believe. I was looking for an alternative to Maazel's masterly account from the '60s and Rattle's recording didn't do much for me. I understand that Previn recorded L'enfant earlier on EMI, but I wanted a more modern sound.

I have a number of Satie recordings, but this Anne Queffelec CD capture his spirit to the perfection.  And I love Germanico !!

Haven't come around to either of these yet ... but the other Queffelec was in the player and I liked it! Those three Mirare discs went for around 7-8 euro recently on aFR, caught that by chance and jumped at it (the chance, that is), as I really like the releases by Mirare (mostly I have baroque stuff) and thought it was time I check out something by Queffelec (these two are the only discs of hers I've got so far).
