Ordered this set, 5 CD'S for a mere 10 euros is a steal me thinks. What has Florestan to say about them I wonder :)

For me two choirs are the best in the trade: The first one is: La Compagnia del Madrigale. ( Perfect intonation, best I ever heard.)

"The vocal culture of the Compagnia del Madrigale is at the highest level; the homogeneity of the overall sound could not be greater. All triads are intoned absolutely pure, which, in view of Gesualdo's harmonic variability, must be regarded as a maximum of vocal virtuosity. Agogic, modification of the tempo and dynamic variability are used to increase the expression of the text, without, however, obscuring the clarity of the composition, which is primarily responsible for the expression of the text's affect and image content"

And the Huelgas Ensemble under Paul Van Nevel.
