Just bought:

That is a very beautiful disc, Mirror Image! Dallapiccola's brand of Italian dodecaphonism is very appealing (often very ascetic, but very effective).  Canti di Prigionia is a very significant work, and the short Michelangelo choruses are a particular favourite of mine. Hope you enjoy!  :)

Moonfish== looks intriguing, but link doesn't seem to work.
It's all good...

Thanks, ritter. Yeah, Dallapiccola's music is quite special. I've loved all the music I've heard so far. I've heard nothing but good things about Canti di Prigionia, so I look forward to it.

Some "despair"  ::) over the CD price ever dropping, forced my hand here. . .
Wise words from Que:

Never waste a good reason for a purchase....  ;)

Just bought via Amazon France:

Looks like a great set, especially the concerti and chamber music discs with Eric Le Sage on piano.

Art of Fugue on piano? Why not? I found this set with gorgeous cover art:

This Nielsen also gets good reviews:

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Last night, in order to keep Mirror Image happy, I ordered some Schnittke:

[asin]B00000IYNB[/asin]

amazon's price was quite good -- but then it went back up after I ordered it.

I added Hex High School to keep Cato happy.

Excellent disc, Pat B! Don't worry about keeping me happy. Yourself and your ears are much more important! 8) Enjoy!

I just couldn't resist any longer:

Some very misleading reviews across the board on Amazon, so I'll happily ignore those (as usual) and continue about in my own little naive way. :) Plus, I love Shaham's playing and David Robertson, an excellent conductor in his own right, is on the podium for most of the set, so I can't find much reason to nitpick for these reasons alone. This said, the repertoire on this set, of course, I know and love, so it was an easy sell. 8)

I've got that in my shopping cart at Arkiv.  The only totally new piece for me will be the Hartmann.  I'll be interested to hear your opinion on how it compares to the one on ECM.

Will do, Jeffrey. Let me also add that the most terrifying performance of Concerto funebre that I know is Wolfgang Schneiderhan's performance on Orfeo (w/ Kubelik conducting the Bavarian RSO). But I'm always up to hear more performances to further my knowledge of the music.

Thread duty -

Just bought because I Alban Berg's music:

I'm not looking for a replacement for Abbado or Levine, I just want some other interpretations and from what I sampled on NML, it sounded like these performances were right up my alley.

Just seconding Schneiderhan's Concerto funebre. It'd be without doubt my top recommendation in the work: nothing comes close for sheer blistering intensity.

For a much more conventionally beautiful reading, Benjamin Schmid on Wergo is worth looking into (on a disc of Hartmann's concertante works that has consistently good all-round performances). I'm not sure if that disc has ever been released this side of the Atlantic, though: I couldn't find it on Amazon US.
