Wow. Soon you'll have as many of those as you have of Turangalila.

I doubt that, Ken. :) I actually don't own many Turangalila-Symphonie performances nor have I heard that many of them. Nate is the man to ask about this work. :)

Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

24th Sibelius cycle???
I would not have thought that there were so many readily available...

And there's still more to go. ;D I think this Berglund will be my last as 24 is a good even number to stop on. :)

If Lintu ever releases a symphony cycle, then that'll be my 25th. :)

Thank you. I only have a small number of recordings by the Griller SQ but I really like them. The Bloch SQs were new works for me so it seemed like a good place to start for me.

I'm not that much of a handelian (I know, I know, that's my loss and not George Frideric's  ;) ), but I can say I find Sandrine Piau an utterly delightful singer  :-*. Enjoy!

It is precisely that. Bloch is one of my 20th century Top 5. His SQ's are underserved, but this group does them well!

Small surprises that, incidentally, are a large part of its beauty.  ;D

Anyway, I'd bet that you had purchased that set, at least, 15 years ago...
