You are probably thinking of Kletzki's Mahler 4.

I don't remember a Matacic Mahler 4.  Are you thinking of Sejna or Kletzki?
Yeah, Kletzki. Happy to wander into a thread and cause confusion with my ignorance  :P

Hola, Karl.

Thanks, John.

Stick around a while, we have lots to discuss!  8) 8)

Not ignorance. Just a case of mistaken conductor. Happens to the best of us. :)

From what I've read, this is one of the best performances of Bruckner's 6th out there. We shall see. Any feedback here from anyone that's heard this recording?

His version of Puccini's Fanciulla del West with Birgit Nilsson is the best I know, marred only by one small cut in Act One.
I've just been in Lucca and seen the Casa de Puccini. :)

It's nice to see you branching out. One of my favorite Biber disks is this:

I'll definitely take this one into consideration for the next time. Thanks, Neal. 8) I have to say, though, that Hildegard von Bingen really mesmerized me from start to finish. Such innovation for such an early composer.

Both the 2nd and the 6th are among the best ever. Powerful yet with a certain leanness, gorgeously played and engineered.

Great to hear, Andre. The price certainly was right. 8) I listened to a little of Stein's 2nd via YouTube and it sounded great.

I don't entirely agree about at least one of these, but I'll wait until he actually listens to comment on which.

Very nice haul here, Mirror Image:)

The MAK Biber is superb.  All of the Biber discs listed are excellent imo.  The Savall that Neal posted is excellent as well.
Wise words from Que:

Never waste a good reason for a purchase....  ;)

Have had this one on my wishlist for a long time

Already have the Neumann 1 and Roegner 5 -- which are among my favorites for those works -- and the Sanderling 3 (not as impressive as his live 7).

Or you know too much that it's all become a mad jumble in your brain, but perhaps I'm projecting.

Must have been fun. I just ordered the Mehta Fanciulla on DG too, as he did a good job with Turandot and his version is note-complete.

Apparently, this conductor, Enoch zu Guttenberg is quite a recluse and only commits himself to a few number of recording projects. From what I've read, this is a very special Romantisch from him and his orchestra. Looking forward to hearing it.

Oh I have that! Just recently purchased. Have you listened to it yet?
