Guess what I received in my email spam folder today?

BABE... i guess your not getting any of my email huh? ive been
tryign to email u so many times but this dam laptop is such a piece of
garbage and keeps freezing.. anyways how u been?

In case u dont know who this is its ME Adriana..

     I have questions:

     1) When will she get that laptop fixed?

     2) What would Fareed Zakaria do?

It's funny, but girls actually do NOT... EVER 'talk' like that unless they've just come from the dentist and are delirious. Everyone should study this spammer because whenever you hear something like this you should run away,... of course, as common as it is on-line, you'd probably have to wait 10 lifetimes to hear someone (cute) talk like that to you fo'real.

I was really missing my craaazy girl once when I started getting these emails from an American girl in Nigeria. Oh yeeeeah!! I was so desperate for my girl that, after a few emails ("oh babe, I've missed you so much, etc.,...") I found myself at the Western Union getting ready to send money. As I was standing there, I had a little talk with myself, and, thankfully, had a moment of clarity.

For desperate guys like me, these types of emails suck. Oh how I WANT to believe... NEEEED to believe...waaaaaah :'(

Anyhow, at least I know now that any 'girl' on line like that is some skinny Nigerian scammer. (maybe Fareed??)

Now the problem is the eyelashes!! bat bat bat... "yes dear, what can I do for you?"

I see it differently, at least somewhat.

Humans are more sphexish than they know. The sphex wasp does things that appear to be conscious operations but are not. The proof, in case you're tempted to a "wasps are conscious" scenario, is that if you move the paralyzed caterpillar a few millimeters from the spot the wasp dragged it to, the wasp will drag it back to that spot. The wasp has to go in the burrow to see that the coast is clear after dragging the meal to the right spot, then come out and drag it in. But if the researcher moves the grub the wasp does not retrieve it and take it home, it drags it back to the same spot, checks the burrow again, comes out and then drags the prize home. It will do this a hundred times.

One tends to attribute reasons to the wasps behavior like we have, so it "wants" things. IMO, that's a big mistake, but what makes it a mistake is that it fails to fully process sphex behavior all the way through. If the sphex is sphexish, its "reasons" are behavior externally attributed. They are reasons as explanations for beings who require them, not for wasps who don't. Wasps don't have reasons for themselves, just reasons of which they are unaware, and our reasons descended from theirs. I do things for sphex reasons with an overlay of human reasons, reasons for me. Why did I just get up? Where was I going? I'll have to append a post facto human reason to my "sphex" reason when I think of one, if I ever do.

Adriana is pure sphex, she'd fail the Turing test by being incapable of taking it. Schnapps would have a good chance of passing, but imagining Adriana as real deducts points, and imagining "her" as a skinny Nigerian scammer a few less.

!?!?!?!

real or not, the 'person' in the writing definitely HAS what I've seen in real life- the Super Crazies!! or... the way a nigerian scammer writes. Are you saying a computer generated it?

I don't play 'go fish' very well. You pretty much have to tell it to me like a 3 year old. I mean, are we in the matrix or not!?!?!?

Maybe I'm too concerned about the next 6 months for higher thought?

Beings that look as though they're conscious are really robotic. The sphex has reasons but doesn't know them. We know the sphex's reasons because we know our own. Brains are robotic at the sphex level. We operate at a higher level of organization, more and better parts in an ingenious network. A robot that knows it's own reasons is conscious.

We can pass the Turing test. Passing the test is convincing a jury that you are a conscious being. Consciousness consists in convincing a jury that you are. You are the jury in the first instance.

It's fun to notice how robotic people are. I mean everyone. Sometimes you can lose a few seconds not thinking of anything, but another one is drawing a blank where a whole train of thought disappears and you can't say a word. Some kind of network failure is going on. A conscious thought is one the network shares, unconscious thoughts are unpublished. So what happens when you have a brain lock is a disruption in the net, none of the thought candidates gets into print, on camera, whatever.

Con artists, like the original author of Adriana and Boo, are really good at exploiting sphexishness in people. That means out of 10,000 people who see the email they get one or two clickers. For every one of those I expect there's a dozen or so whose sphexishness starts one level deeper and they go

"this was sent to my fiance as well.. at first I was upset then I kept reading it over and over.... she sent it to him Sept 12, 2011.... and i was even more upset b/c he said he doesnt have a facebook account so it was like lie on top of lie.... but i NEVER confronted him about it.. I just spammed it... and then deleted it.. he doesnt even know I know about it... "

So I'm thinking that everyone reaches the sphex point sooner or later. Like they say, everybody talks in the end, it's human nature, and so everyone reaches that level where the they're like the parent who gets tired of answering the little brat's constant WWWHHHYYYY?

      BECAUSE, THAT'S WHY!

I equate all of this to all my old ex-girlfriends who were black out drunks,... uh, and also from my study of the 'blackout persona',... I call it the 'Invisible Werewolf',... M. Hyde,...

I tend to bring out qualities in people that they were convinced they didn't have, haha,... and anyhow, yes, the things that people do when they're not really at home, like your wasp-in-high-heels (I'm groovin' on the Giallo reference!!).

hm, I'm not making much sense... (don't even think it!)

It IS 'robotic' the way I responded to my own Nigerian scammer. Simply by Posting a pic of a beautiful girl, and saying the needed things to coax a broken hearted chump (sweetie had split), they had me ALMOST wiring money.

Standing in front of the wiring machine, I looked up at my Programmer, and He said, Son, don't send the money! whew!!

I didn't realize, I guess, that you could lie on the computer. That I think is evidence of some kind of robotic thinking from childhood... the happy place... la la land... it's all gonna be ok...

Right now, the womenfolk collectively have been treating fairly invisibly, so, if someone pulled that on me now, I really don't know how far I'd believe it. bla bla bla

yea, maybe SEMI- conscious right now,...zzZZzzz zzzZZzz  ZZZzzz oy, Sunday Afternoon Nap Alert!!!!!

I did a non-sphexish thing today after my nap. I got my taxes done. Believe me, you do not want to sphex out on something like that if you own a bunch of crazy stuff like oil and gas partnership units. Who here knows what a K-1 is?

I've been to the mountain top, and I've seen the promised land, but I may not get there with you because I got 11 K-1s, the last one on April 4th!!
