Hovhaness and Kalnins premieres on "Classical Discoveries

The World Premiere broadcast of "Jannabar" by Alan Hovhaness, will be presented this Wednesday morning, July 18 on  Classical Discoveries (http://classicaldiscoveries.org).  The work dating from 1950 is a 37 minute Sinfonia concertante for Piano, Trumpet, Violin and Strings and is from an upcoming OgreOgress CD.  The work will be broadcast during the 10:00 o'clock hour.

This weeks program will also include the American broadcast premiere of the Symphony No. 6  dating from 2001 by the Latvian composer Imants Kalnins.  This is a one hour work scored for choir and orchestra which will be broadcast during the 8:00 o'clock hour.

"Classical Discoveries" can be heard every Wednesday from 6:00 to 11:00 Eastern time and airs on WPRB (http://wprb.com) out of Princeton NJ.  It can also be heard locally on 103.3 FM.
