Hi Guys,

My sister in law dumped her entire CD collection on me, as she doesn't have space for it and is just listening to stuff on ipod anyway. There is a fair amount of duplication with my existing collection, so I am getting rid of the doubles while also culling a few from my own collection. All CDs are in good to excellent condition, except as otherwise noted, and are $5 per disc plus shipping from US. Payment via paypal. PM me if interested.

I'll join this thread, shortly... as I have a lot of duplicates looking for a new home.

Might go 5€ per disc (or whatever seems a reasonable offer; perhaps a tad more on large box sets; significantly less on odds-and-ends-stuff), plus some reasonable one-time shipping fee.

Will start listing soon.

Cheerio,

I have a rather long list I would not want to post here, especially because it will not be worth mailing stuff to the US (and there is also the problem of payment) and I am not sure if there are enough people from Germany/Austria/Netherlands/Switzerland etc. so that mailing from Germany will not be to expensive.
But those interested in used but well-kept CDs for ca. 2-8 EUR each can drop me a personal message and I will mail them my list.

Just saw my thread has been bumped up. The unsold items remain available if anyone's interested.

Well, I'd be shipping from either Germany or Austria, too, and while not worth mailing to the US, perhaps there are enough Euro-GMGers to merit a thread...? What we need is critical mass.

The original edition of the Kubelik Mahler, I'm thinking, might easily be worth that. Or the complete Rubbra Symphonies...?  0:)

I tend to go roughly by the actual amazon marketplace prices for the respective item and my shipping within Germany would be less than the 3 EUR amazon adds. And these are a few comparably rare discs. The average or typical price would be closer to 4-5 EUR and I will usually give a discount if someone wants several discs.

The problem is that shipping gets quickly more expensive even to Austria or Holland (EUR 3,50, but this would allow up to 4 discs I think). Tough luck. I want to get rid of this stuff but I am not giving it away for free and I also cannot compete with some professional marketplace sellers scooping up large collections for a few cent per disc and then selling them dirt cheap.

Nobody was suggesting that you should be giving stuff away for free...... 8)

My surprise was due do the fact that I am usually lucky to get 1 - 2 euro per disc through off line channels.
But if you can get the prices you quote,  by all means - who wouldn't?  :D

Personally I wouldn't pay that kind of prices unless the item is very rare,  out of print and in pristine condition.

One has to be very patient but this seems not strongly dependent on the price; of course the prices have to be somewhat realistic, if there are 5 cheaper offers on the amazon marketplace it's fairly bad. If there are only two overpriced ones, one can sometimes sell for a reasonable price.

Since january I sold 4 discs on the amazon.de marketplace. The prices ranged from EUR 3.90 - 9.99. The buyer pays EUR 3 on top of that, so my customers were willing to pay ca. 7-13 EUR. One was the Sibelius Concerto with Mutter/Previn. I sold it for 6.96, right now the cheapest used offer is 7.97 on amazon.de, so the person who bought it from me a few months ago got a good deal. And as a German buyer I would rather buy from someone like myself than from Zoverstocks because I ship from Germany so the disc will be there in about two days.
Once or twice in the past I have sold multi-disc sets (3-6 disc) for EUR 30 or more. But I have also swapped discs at a forum where you basically only pay postage and receive tokens you can exchange for goods offered (which comes down to something like 2 EUR)

It all depends, there are a few used items I have paid higher prices for than for most new discs I buy, but I usually would not pay more than EUR 10 for a single used disc (I usually do not pay more for a new either ;))

Of course, a *dealer* will offer only a very low price, usually only 2-3 EUR or less. And Amazon takes its cut as well, so for private deals like here I'd usually go slightly below the cheapest marketplace price (unless I find it way too low ;))

This seems reasonable, re: shipping, if we are not swapping.

All prices in Euro. Prices are negotiable, especially if you want more than one disc.

Shipping within Germany: 1,50 for 1-2 discs, 2,50 for thick double sets or up to about 5-6 single discs.
Within (Central/Western) Europe: 3,50 for 1-4 discs, probably around 6-7 for 5 or more.

Shipping outside Europe is probably not worth the trouble because too expensive (it's usually much more expensive than from the US). I'd have to inquire about rates.

As for payments, so far I have used paypal only as a customer, but it would probably be possible to use it. Otherwise, we just have to trust each other and I think within Europe/Eurozone bank transfer is quite easy now.
I am happy to answer questions or give links to track lists (if available online).
