Discussed briefly elsewhere, this seems to deserve its own thread. How big is your Pile and what's in it?

Mine is around 190, but the overwhelming majority of that is in 4 big boxes. I'd like to eventually get to all of it, but I've actually listened to most of what I really bought those boxes for. So I don't feel too bad about those.

Of singles and small sets, I have 26 discs which is more than I realized.

I'm literally surrounded by piles of CDs in my den (left click to enlarge picture) all waiting the purchase of more shelves. There are additional tall piles in the hallway and in the music library. How many are yet to be listened to? Difficult to say or estimate. The majority have been listened to at least once but certainly there are dozens, maybe upwards of a hundred (there are many boxes that have been dipped into but not wholly consumed) still unheard.

Sarge
the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

I was going to make some wise crack, but then I realized: I recognize the boxes -  Raff, Mozart, Yo Yo Ma, Mahler, etc. Plus, you have a Cleveland Indians hat, and anyone who is a fan of theirs really needs all the support they can get! :)
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Cleveland Indians hat?  I see a camouflage helmet.  Maybe conditions have deteriorated in Cleveland to the extent that the Cleveland Indians play in camouflage.

In any case, I see the explanation for the Sarge's occasional absences from the board.  Even a moderate purchase of CDs could easily completely obscure the view of the screen.

In fact, Mrs. Rock bitches about that whenever she uses my computer  :D  A few months ago I rearranged things. Moved several piles from my desk to the music library...but it didn't take long for the desk to sprout new piles. Damn hard to get rid of once infected.

Now that surprises me.  One look and I thought, "this is the room that Mrs. Rock does not enter."

Now, what makes you think that other rooms in the house are less infected?

When I see photos of meals that the Sarge has prepared in the "what are you eating thread" there are no piles of CDs visible in the foreground or background.  :)

The kitchen and the wine cellar. The only uncluttered spaces in the house  :D

Believe it or not, that's the San Diego Padres.

I have no idea why.

The "padres" refers to the Catholic priests of the old San Diego Missions.  If they are hiding, it is presumably from arrest warrants on other charges...

We may have gotten slightly off-topic. We'll probably catch hell when Pat B returns to his thread and sees the mess we've made  :D
