Daredevil and Green Lantern are not that good, but they are masterpieces compared to Catwoman or Nick Fury.  And I agree with Dave, Daredevil is better than Green Lantern.

Watching Pacific Rim reminded me how much I liked del Toro's Hellboy movies.  Too bad there won't be a Hellboy 3.

Beorn

I just received a Daredevil t-shirt in the mail today.  ;D

That Pacific Rim flick looks pretty cool.

Yeah it was awesome, well worth seeing.

James, have you read any of the Daredevil comics specifically the ones written by Frank Miller? I highly recommend these or at least check out the book of collected stories titled Born Again. One of the best Daredevil stories ever written.

Okay, I've finally voted, although some might well consider that I have no right to vote, having viewed such a small sampling of the candidates:

Superman (1978) Very much the contrarian, I suppose, in that I greatly liked everything about this from first watching it on the big screen — except for the Obligatory Love Ballad.

Heavy Metal (1981) In spite of the lower points of aiming-towards-adolescents, and of the occasional bit which was apt to creep me out, an impressive achievement which survives its flaws.  Did not succeed in turning me into a metalhead, FWIW.

Dick Tracy (1990) Almost in spite of its inclusion of Madonna. Somehow, the stylization and color palette of this one still fetch me in.

Hudson Hawk (1991) Probably does not officially belong here (this is my Other). I think it's a ton of fun, and I don't care who knows it.

The Dark Knight (2008) Heath Ledger's performance is not the only fine thing about this, but is more than enough.

There is more that I haven't seen than have seen .. off the top of my head ..

Spiderman 2 (re-visited recently, actually liked it better the 2nd time around, great movie)

My best friend story boarded on this one.  I will let him know.

Avengers: Some great quotes in this one:

Steve Rogers: Big man in a suit of armour. Take that off, what are you?
Tony Stark: Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.

Captain America: Thor, you gotta try and bottleneck that portal. Slow 'em down. You got the lightning. Light the bastards up.
[Thor swings his hammer and flies off and Captain America turns to Black Widow]
Captain America: You and me, we stay here on the ground, keep the fighting here. And Hulk? Smash!

Spiderman 2 One of the few where the big ending action gets it right.  Plus the train scene was very cool.

Rocketeer (A jet pack retro, decco dude fighting evil....does it get better?  And there is a blimp fighting scene!)

The Phantom (a definite guilty pleasure)

and probably Thor, but I would be willing to give a nod to the Adam West Batman movie as I can watch it to this day and chuckle.

I heard the the director had to keep pitching the scene to the folks Marvel where Hulk treats Loki like a ragdoll.  They thought it wouldn't work, but after much pleading they gave the go ahead.  Turned out to be one of the best scenes.

The Phantom (a definite guilty pleasure)

Loved Catherine Zeta Jones' sadistic, lesbian villainess. So, yeah, I guess I should feel guilty  :D

I'll probably check that one out, I have only seen 1 of the X-men films (First Class) thus far and enjoyed it .. and I just discovered that there is a follow-up to Kenneth Branagh's Thor (which I have not see yet) coming this November.

The first Thor was good, not great, not awful. The scenes on earth were the real sour spot of the story. But worth a viewing, especially if you're an Avengers fan, lots of good pre-Avengers material. I've always been a Thor comics fan, mainly for the non-earth origin that takes the action to other worlds.

We enjoyed X-Men First Class.  As for the new Thor movie, we are looking forward to it as well.

As this thread resurfaced, I think I would change my vote from Dark Knight to Batman Begins. But beyond that, as I went through the list, I felt that about 65% were out and out bad movies. Of the rest, I felt half were either good or ok (ok = mixed with some good and bad). Dick Tracey strikes me as being the most original of the group. I think Hollywood hasn't done justice to the source material of most of them.
Be kind to your fellow posters!!
