I have decided to emigrate to Denver and gain entry into the Table Repair Business, as so much table pounding has been going on there's got to be a niche market opening up.  I will call it TRB (Denver) Inc, and GMGers will of course have to pay the highest going rates and expenses, because flying from Scotland to Denver and then on to locate the pounded and broken tables will be min. $2,800 call out fee, plus the rest for fixing the damn tables.
This brings up the question about GMG'ers and their love for tables.  It seems that at any one moment, all of us on GMG are sitting at a table when listening to something, or responding to a post.  It is interesting to note we are all sitting at tables simultaneously, and more interesting for it that the tables themselves have been pounded so many times that it could be said that the condition of tables of GMG'ers are probably the worst in the World.
So thats it, Market Research done, market waiting, all those damn tables waiting... 8)

It used to be that a table could withstand decades, if not centuries of pounding.  Nowadays, we in the US get our tables from Target or Walmart for $49.99 or less, and the legs tend to fall off after a year or two, even with minimal pounding.  I'm afraid repairing such items may not be economical.  :(

Thanks for the good business advice Scarpia.  In that case, I'll hit the high end of the market instead, and open a business called "Classical Tables (Denver) Inc".  These tables will be made for pounding, in either polished solid Oak or Rosewood and have a treble clef etched in 18ct Gold in the center, and a few USB and IPod connectors cleverly concealed underneath - this range of tables will be of various sizes, etc, to fit the needs of the customer...or...
Maybe not... :-[

John, I propose instead (since the table pounding shall countinue on GMG) regardless of tables, that an investment in a massage therapy, pysiotherapy, chiropractic conglomerate may be a more lucrative venture.

After all the mouse clicking and table pounding, GMGers are pounding their hands into pulp.  They need some TLC, and medical attention.

Obamacare does not cover injuries due to table pounding.   Well, scratch that:  Obamacare doesn't cover anything at the moment.  ::) :o
