A decent interval having passed . . . .

Is this a reference to the Banana Field Mass, so memorably evoked in Alain Robbe-Grillet's novel Jealousy?

No love for my favorites (1, 2, 5) ...at least not enough love  :(

I think that they are all great works - No 2 in particular.

The 5th is an intriguing piece structurally, and I think its finale is his single greatest symphonic movement.

But there are no duds among any of the symphonies - I love 'em all  :)

For me, picking a favorite Martinu symphony is like picking from 6 of my favored shirts. I love them all and couldn't be without any of them.

Ah... but you still choose what you wear to work! or to the party etc  So pick one now and say it's just for today. 8)

Good point, but the only problem with picking one is the guilt I feel afterwards for not picking one of the others. :)
