Music in my case, obviously. But I am interested in others' stories.

Besides eating and breathing, these are the top five: thinking, listening to music, writing poetry, reading, raising my son (not necessarily in this order).

From the other thread:
"I know I used to say psychology. But I should revise. I am a psychologist. I am known or even famous for it. But I do not really make a living with it since I do most of my psychological work for free, such as now helping the victims of the air crash. I actually make a living by helping businesses. For that I get paid. That includes training, business consulting, executive coaching, etc. "

I would say more than half of my work are in the former category. I do it because it is who I am and I can not walk away from it. Besides, where I am, other people simply do not do it or do not have the expertise.

Other things I do include: poetry, music... wait, another non-paying gig that I do dozens of times a year--parenting training!

But I do need to make some money. I have hardly made a penny and spent lots of my own money in the past four months. So in Jan. I will be doing some training on quality and communication for a multinational corporation, in China and Singapore. I help multinational companies solve cross culture issues and make the company gel, and use some psychology in employee or management consulting/assistance. I hope to set up a CEO coaching group next year, which will pay handsomely. But that is very difficult to set up. I make a couple of effective appearances on two very important CEO conferences. Let's see how it goes next year.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

Besides listening to music, I must always try to make time for the guitar, which I've been playing for 21 years. I also must make time to watch my favorite 90s sitcoms, films, and to continue to search for a woman I'm compatible with (which is a full-time job within itself).

I get paid for being a web developer in a "non-banking financial company".

When I am not at work (and sometime even at work) I spend my time trying to keep current in all things related to web development and programming in general (which is an excercise in futility), listening to music, watching opera and ballet, cooking (and eating), playing and reading about videogames, playing pinball, and reading tons of self-help literature while consistently failing to apply the knowledge.

Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention I pose as an actor in a theater company.

Are you presently in a production? Say on!

Indeed, I am. We have a performance this Saturday.
