North Star, nice shallow DoF and lovely bokeh.  Impressive for a crop sensor and kit zoom lens.

This is a billboard with a picture of my two daughters in a real-estate ad.  The billboard picture wasn't taken by me...

And here is my son, from an unusual perspective. This pic is about 3 years old, actually.
Thanks!
Not a kit lens, though - it's the Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC.

Very nice work from you, too!

Quite the photoshop skills, Sarge 8)
That said, I really like the original picture.  She kind of has a little Mona Lisa thing going...

Are dandelions as ubiquitous and reviled there as they are here? In reality, they're pretty little wildflowers, but because they're considered weeds when they pop up in lawns, there must be a hundred different products on the market to kill them. (Much to my neighbor's chagrin, I currently have a dandelion sanctuary growing around my house, which I personally have no problem with.)   :)

At least as ubiquitous & reviled, I'd say :)

For twelve years Mrs. Rock and I cultivated dandelions too. It was the favorite food of our vegan lizard, Fafner. He would get so excited seeing yellow in our hand, approaching his terrarium.

That's so awesome that you had a lizard named Fafner!  :D  Did you have another one named Herbie?  ;)

We have lots of dandelions.  Pissenlits, as we call them in French.  Many people would make wine with the yellow flower part.  Apparently very high alcohol content and potent.  never tried it myself.  ;D  They (dandelions) are a weed here in Canada!
