I think I haven't told you but I have a tendency to take tons of nature photos as well, but I tend to be a bit linked to spring/summer for some reason. If I get my act together I will start a Flickr account one of these days.  Some thoughts:  It would be interesting to see your numerous lake horizons in a stream (gif style)? I think that would be a mesmerizing representation of your lake. Alternatively, perhaps start taking a picture at the same spot/angle over and over to get exactly the same view. Considering the amazing colors and cloudscapes at the lake one can barely imagine the breadth of visions such a project would represent. Regardless, your portfolio of lake horizons are stunning in their beauty.  :)

No, you hadn't told me. I'd certainly like to see them. Making the account and uploading photos there takes pretty much no effort of course. Wading through photos and editing, on the other hand..

I'm not sure I like the gif idea - you certainly can't get lost in the photograph viewing it like that. Your second idea would actually work wonderfully with the first idea (if one wanted to do such a gif).

Of course, I have followed your second idea loosely already. Most of the photos are taken from pretty much the same spot, on the pier, looking at either of these two directions. (or slightly more to the left - in any case, all the photos taken from that spot include areas visible in these photos) The light & clouds have influenced the framing, of course.

I suspect we are all getting fond of your lake pictures!   8)

Here's the Flickr slideshow. I didn't bother myself too much with the order of the images there.

Yesterday the weather was rather nice, apart from being -9 °F (-23 °C) and snowing - at midday, walking on the lake a couple of hundred meters outside my apartment, there was a rather nice halo around the sun. I'm sure I'll upload a photo or two of that eventually (it won't be too soon).
