Is the Wilhelm Furtwangler Society still in business?

I tried to join, but the Paypal buttons on that site lead to a blank page. Anyone knows if they're still alive?

Sorry, dude, but you failed our background check.   Turns out you have shown interest in one or more HIP performers in the last 6 months.

Oh, you mean Klemperer?

Sorry, just a silly joke. I like Furtwangler quite a bit but don't know anything about a society. Good luck with making contact. I recommend hitting them with a few more messages.  If they are still a functioning entity, persistence may be called for.

That was funny, and I meant that Klemperer is HIP compared to Furtwangler    ;D

It's the French WF society, who have produced quite a few issues, some of which are considered the best available (like the Scala Ring for example), and you can't buy these from them unless you buy a membership as well, hence my interest. I did e-mail them, but no reply so far.

Klemperer's divided violins seating is really HIP!

I am not a member of WF Society (or a big fan of WF) but I happened to find a blog post telling that the France WF Society's president Mr. Philippe Leduc passed away last month. Maybe that is the reason? However, it is an unreliable source, and I don't know whether it is true or not.

Klemperer wanted to be HIP, and was actually sorta kinda considered to be so, especially in his younger days in regards to Mozart and Bach. Of course at that time the "I" part of HIP was pretty weak.
