Just don't. It is slower and Safari is less easy to use and crashes more.

Hi Ken - I upgraded my iPad 2 when the 8.0.2 version was released - had to wait for some of my apps to update to the new iOS, plus I do not use browsers that much on my iPad, so for me the experience has not been a 'death blow' -

However, a visit to the iPad Forums (I'm 'giradman' there) will show a LOT of variable posts about the experience, so for those who want to read both positives & negatives about the upgrade, an excellent site (has over a third of a million members so plenty of input & discussion) - also Apple is likely to release an 8.1 version soon - will it help - hopefully?  Dave :)

P.S. I've not upgraded my wife's iPad Mini (she would be devastated if a BAD experience, so will wait).

Mine's a mini in fact.

I used to really like my iPad. Since the ios 8 upgrade I would recommend you buy another kind of tablet.

Upgraded iPad air works fine, but I'm a little hesitant about upgrading the macbook pro.

Your advice arrived too late.. It was upgraded 5 minutes after the upgrade was released for Chile. :D

I upgraded my macbook pro and my imac and Yosemite is working nicely and quite faster than the previous version of OS X.

Well, has been a couple of weeks since my last post here, but I did upgrade wife's Mini to iOS 8.1 - no major problem; we are both use to the interface, and speed & battery life seem to be about the same.  For me, I did go into Accessibility -> Reduce Motion and activated this feature - stops the flying windows (which was slow on my old iPad 2) and other icon animations.

Concerning our two Macs, both are still on Mavericks - I'm waiting for a minor Yosemite upgrade - in fact OS X 10.0.1 was just released to the developers - no big hurry for me.  Our next Apple purchase will likely be two iPhones later this month (currently we have 'dumb' phones and I like some of the 'new' features on the Apple phone - we will go for the regular size rather than the Plus).  Dave :)
