Please help!

An opportunity to allow CDCDCD to run wild has introduced itself. There's a CD of Shostakovich String Quartets, 3 and 6, on Emergo (Orlando Quartet) that is not going for less than $40 ANYWHERE in the world. So I asks the chap if he'll lower the price, which he does, but- PEOPLE!!- it's $30 for 20 minutes of music (I'm only interested in 6).

I plan on writing him back to ask if this recording is really good- why is he getting rid of it- but, in my mind, I seem to be fully ready to embarrass myself and pay over $30 for a single CD.

Oh pleeease!~! - someone help- how can I go through life knowing that I'm the one who would do this? I'll take it out of savings if I have to- JUST SO I CAN KNOW- so I can share the result with you. How selfless is that???

I'm sweating bullets here- there is nothing left so important in the world than I get this right. aaahhhhh!!!!

No. Paying that just encourages bad behavior amongst the scalpers. Plus, if you really wanted it, you would have closed the deal without blinking. So that proves you don't, so not to worry.  0:)

You'll be bummed when it jumps to $70 if you do not act now and more bummed when you snag it at $30 and it crashes to $15 after a re-release in four or five years.

Or, the cruel twist is . . . he pulled the trigger at $30 before seeing word of BRO . . . .

If so, for a cost of mere $300, I can help get him out of the psychological pain of that unfortunate event.

Well,... it's the Orlando Quartet,... their reputation for, say, Mozart, is pretty good,... the 6th is a 'Classical' Quartet,... Emergo has a reputation for, at least, pretty good sound,... aaaaand, I asked for the timings, and, this could be The 6th!!

But,... one must hear it first.

Yes, I'd get it for $15 just for the chance to hear this 6th.

But,... you're all so right,... I could very well have committed myself to the financial molestation,... please,... help,... I've never ordered from BRO before,...

... need,...

                       ... Shostakovich CD...

                                                                 ... more than....

                                                                                                       ... air....

Uh, oh. I think I've bought many hundreds of cds at BRO, maybe more. Your CDCDCDCD is about to have a major flare up. BRO cds are cheaper than almost any other source (the downside is that they have what they have, but that is still a lot of cds).

BRO is a fine, local outfit (western Mass.), they've always done right by me (and by our Paul, among several others).

Myself among them. Dating from back in the days when they mailed me a newspaper the size of the Sunday Globe on a regular basis with all their listings updated and I mailed them back a list with a blank check....  :D

The minimum includes your s&h, so you're OK there. The thing with BRO, buy plenty, because the s&h is the same for 1 or a pisspot full. I try to wait until I can put together like $50 worth so I maximize my s&h cost. :)
