Are those prosciutto? In reference to Scarlatti being Italian?

Or maybe props for a zombie apocalypse film. Either way, a bit off-putting.

Whatever it is, my jaw dropped when I saw that.

I'm a vegetarian*, and that photo to me is all sorts of stomach-turning.

(*In response to that particular photo, I'd just like to say that I prefer animal legs to stay on the animal.)

The new erato

So your lust for Scarlatti is cured?

Oh dear.

Can't we have a photo of a harpsichord? Or a harpsichordist's hands? Or the harpsichordist's face? Or some sheet music?

Basically, anything but meat.

Brian

Well, I like that cover.

But I also really, really like food.

Ha!

The second one made me laugh out loud. That's magnificent.

And the first one is so... neat. The way the food is arranged on the plate. So neat.

But that second one. The way the piano dude is looking so lovingly at his food. I'm still laughing.

and lest we forget

This one is mildly demented.

(I'm strongly resisting the urge to make a pun about Mr. Pehrsson making a mistake during a music lesson and the teacher saying, "Clas dismissed!" I really don't want to say that.)

Oh God.

Plus, it is a "BIS original dynamics recording," which creates the stunning impression of a person tooting a recorder in your own living room!

More likely the impression of a person chewing a recorder in your own living room.

In fact the food is relevant there. Most of Rossini's piano works were composed after he retired from opera.  During that part of his life,  gourmet food was a major interest for him.

Terrible cover. But boy do the samples sound awesome. And it's on sale at mdt, where I was putting together an order. Sweet!
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Not going to meat any recent expectations for posts on this thread, probably, but this one came to mind:

"l do not consider my music as atonal, but rather as non-tonal. I feel the unity of all keys. Atonal music by modern composers admits of no key at all, no feeling of any definite center." - Arnold Schoenberg

Tournedos Rossini, filet mignon topped with foie gras and truffles:

Spaghetti Caruso (this one doesn't stint on the chicken livers - Miam !):

And, for something lighter, Peach Melba, invented by Escoffier for Dame Nellie:

The writing says Paris. His reaction says "cheap model of tower".

I want to call him Squintin' Greg McCallum.

I can see Squintin' Greg as a movie star. I can especially see him in a Western.

Actually, he reminds me of Gary Sinise.

Tournedos Rossini is a favorite.  There are many more.  The Tetrazzini (after Luisa Tetrazzini) is an easily made spaguetti dish.  See
