San Antone

"Anarchism is a political philosophy that advocates stateless societies often defined as self-governed voluntary institutions, but that several authors have defined as more specific institutions based on non-hierarchical free associations.  Anarchism holds the state to be undesirable, unnecessary, or harmful. While anti-statism is central, anarchism entails opposing authority or hierarchical organisation in the conduct of human relations, including, but not limited to, the state system."

~ Wikipedia article

Any other anarchists here?

Sounds good in theory. It´s the practice that sucks.  ;D ;D ;D

I don't reject all labels. That would be too orderly for me. I reject a certain percentage of it completely at random.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

For instance, in Catalonia during the Spanish Civil War. The problem is that a society run by anarchists is not at all the same thing as an anarchist society.  ;D

I agree.  My history of the Spanish Civil War is fairly sketchy.

It is one of the most ideologized topics in modern history. Be warned, I reject out of hand mainstream (ie, leftist) narratives.  :D

My sketchy understanding of the SCW is that the leftists were naive concerning both the communists and fascists.  But I generally believe that leftists are naive about everything.

Now we´re talking.  :D

The only fascists in Spain (with qualifications) were the Spanish Falange, whom Franco (himself not a fascist at all, only a very pragmatic military leader and dictator) used and manipulated for his own purposes.

Anarchy is a noble ideal.  Unfortunately, most humans aren't very noble.

I was going to write this earlier... not sure why I didn't. Literally the only example that comes to mind.

I know, but I don´t think it´s too far off the mark. With Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera´s killing, the Falange was basically beheaded and it ended by being amalgamated in the FET y de las JONS, a move which both old Falangists and old Carlists opposed.

I'm a monarchist; democracy is bad enough and anarchism is its extreme form.

Of all contemporary monarchies, which one would you rather live in?
