I think there is a bit of a dialogue of the deaf going on here and we have strayed away fron the topic. I would like you all to draw a line under this now and allow the topic to flow on. I may yet remove the off topic posts; the main thing is to all step away from the possibility of completely souring the discussions.

I haven't been following this, but could someone who has tell me: is there any news about what sort of repertoire Petrenko is planning on performing and recording?

Or more specifically: can we expect the usual production line of warhorse recordings (however expertly done) or will there be some championing of actual living, working composers?

If the BP works like other orchestras, next season's repertoire is already settled.  The following year will give Mr. Petrenko a chance to show what he wants to do and can do.

Rattle remains in charge trough the 2017/2018 season, so it will be a little while before we see a Petrenko-programmed season.
