Season 2 of The Outer Limits, or The Incredible Shrinking Budget.

Or as "Confidence" says in a Red Dwarf episode: "Oxygen's for losers."

I learned just recently that after filming Haywire - a pizza movie I greatly enjoy - director Steven Soderberg went back and overdubbed lead actress Gina Carano with Laura San Giacomo's voice and then had to edit the film in such a way that no one would notice.
Not sure what is meant here but I got very excited at the idea that there is a genre of movie that's all about pizzas.

Watched Season One of Lovecraft Country.  A fascinating combination of supernatural horror meets racism horrors in 1950's America.  Really well done!  You can read more about it here:  https://www.hbo.com/lovecraft-country

Breaking Bad is the best thing I have seen in years. Late to the party but that is not a bad thing as we can binge watch - last night three episodes worth. The production and acting is so impressive, far superior to anything on British TV. Based around Walter who has terminal cancer the series is LOL funny with characters comparable to modern day Dickens. But it is the acting that stands out, the facial expression of Walter's wife (a brilliant actress) when he came down to prepare breakfast after shaving all his hair off had me in stiches.
I agree. This, The Wire and Deadwood. Mad men was pretty great too. I think the "golden age" of TV are over. Yeah, British TV seems to be a bit too social, a bit too soapy and a lot of their crime shows are humorless and drab or sunny and slight. Not that there's anything good on American TV these days.

This was just awful!

Any humor in Deadwood? I think I passed it over because it seemed like a straight drama. Although I did give Justified a chance last year and ended up really loving that show! Have you seen it?

The new erato

Television is alive and well in Germany. Watching Weissensee, currently in the middle of season 2 and it is outstanding.

I finished all 4 seasons of Star Trek: Enterprise. Pretty entertaining overall with some new ideas, good characters and interesting ethical dilemmas among the occasional cliched stories.

Biffo

Started to watch Murdoch Mysteries Series 14 on DVD. The first episode was a bit weak but some powerful stuff in episode 2.

Bloody hell! Season 14 is out? Netflix doesn't go beyond # 13.  :(

A surprise and a relief to see something about a serial killer that doesn't indulge in the torture-porn of recreating the murders but focuses entirely on the post-arrest prosecution and psycholog and describes the murders or attempts only anecdotaly.

Season 14 has been shown on UK television but I can't remember which channel, possibly one I couldn't  access. Murdoch has moved around channels and it became too confusing. We kept missing episodes when we went on holiday and eventually found it easier to buy the DVD. Season 14 is available from Amazon UK - no idea about other countries.

Thaks for the info. I'll keep an eye opened ;)

In a way just as creepy. Tennant is Nilsen.

I watched a couple of episodes of Star Trek: Voyager but wasn't impressed and switched to Star Trek: Discovery which I'm finding far more up to date and exciting.

Back for it's third and (sadly) third season. Amazing show.

Interesting.

I've now finished Season 2 of The Outer Limits.  Overall, I agree with the fanboys that it is beautifully shot (though I do not follow their fandom in implying that this a great distinction from The Twilight Zone. Some of the B.E.M, (Bug-Eyed Monsters) that they love (reflecting their having been devotees of the show as youngsters, to some extent IMO) really are flat-out laughable , but I suppose fans will be fans. The commentaries did their job in a couple of instances, where they improved my opinion of the respective episodes, although some of my reservations would not evaporate. Notwithstanding the lionizing of Sfefano and Stevens, the writing could be uneven. of course, the same can be said of The Twilight Zone, but in general the writing on the latter is much stronger than on The Outer Limits. My appreciation for The Outer Limits has notched up significantly, but I do continue to feel that when Stephen King, e.g. (who is of course entitled to his own preferences) writes that the later series is the superior of the two, he's just trying to fart higher than his asshole.
