...

the RVG discography I was following (and playing the albums less familiar to me) stops for some reason at 1965, and I don't seem to be able to find one that continues

so after this its back to more random and serendipitous exploring in my jazz listening

Have you tried this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Gelder_Studio#List_of_recording_sessions

Or maybe also this (sorted by release date, as it's album-, or rather release-based, not session-based):
https://www.discogs.com/de/artist/252966-Rudy-Van-Gelder?limit=500&page=1

I assume the one you are referring to is this here:

Aha! Thank you very much for those!

No idea why I couldn't find the Wikipedia one on my own - that's kind of embarrassing.

Hmm...there's quite a lot of stuff on that Wikipedia list that for some reason wasn't on the previous discography I was using. Oh well, more listening to explore. For example:

Elmo Hope - Meditations (1954)

Yeah, the internet's for free ... that earlier discography seems to be mainly for heavy duty vinyl geeks (is it focussed to all that was ever released in mono? that would explain the cut-off date in the mid sixties) ... putting together a thorough listing (even better with details about participants and tracks and releases etc.) would probably mean several years of research. Don't (or very rarely) get that on the net (and if you do, it's usually focussed on musicians, such as the work by Noal Cohen and Mike Fitzgerald, who do also rely on participants from all over the world).

Now playing:

As great as ever!

Listening to this album again - the version I own has some killer Live tracks on it.
This group was certainly a force to be reckoned with!.

Just got this, first impression is it's nice but after the excellent opener (a bluesy version of Dylan's "Masters of War") does not quite hold up interest all the way through.

The box came in yesterday.  Started my listening.  Excellent selection of European Jazz.
In the end, there isnt too much duplication with what I have.  It will take a while to get through this.

I am toying with the idea of getting the American box as well.
