...if you have a good team! And apparently USA does, after knocking out top seeded Germany yesterday. The ladies have allowed only 1 goal in the entire tournament, in the first half of the first game. Finals Sunday, will it be USA v UK?

Wow, big week in football: England women beat Germany to take Bronze in World Cup;  Chilean Men beat Argentina to take Gold in Copa America. Damn, pretty soon they'll be having ME watching futbol!

Yes! Chile won the "Copa América" earlier today, after an electrifying final against Argentina, decided on penalties.

Tonight will be a long night of celebration across the country, after winning this, our first continental title.

Yeah team USA! This is the team USA Women's 3rd World Cup title. And how many World Cup titles has the team USA Men's won? Zero, zilch, nought, nada, nil...   Yes I am a woman and an American. Can you tell?

I haven't followed the women's cup, but the male US team has done not that bad in some world cups especially considering the relatively low status of soccer in the US (and they now have a pretty good coach ) They were sometimes a little unlucky but often did better than expected. But one cannot expect them to win, there are too many better teams around and in the world cup "freak events" like Greece winning the European championship are even more unlikely. But I could see the US getting to the semifinals one day if they are lucky and don't get Germany too early as an opponent.
