"Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" (Churchill).

'The test of a work of art is, in the end, our affection for it, not our ability to explain why it is good' (Stanley Kubrick).

Bachianas Brasileiras No. 3 is my favorite. Also No. 4, 5 and 7. Other Villa-Lobos I enjoy considerably less.
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Only three works, Jeffrey?
They immediately sprang to mind John but I hope to add two more in due course.

At the moment:

Piano Trio No. 2 (a most spectacular work)
Symphony No. 4
Amazonas - Symphonic poem
String Trio
String Quartet No. 7
The current annihilation of a people on this planet (you know which one it is) is the most documented and at the same time the most preposterously denied. The terror IS REAL more than ever!

Hard to make a choice, I'ld say for now:

Bachianas brasileras no. 7 for orchestra
O papagaio do moleque (tone poem)
Cello concerto No. 2
Guitar concerto
Chôros No. 10
... music is not only an 'entertainment', nor a mere luxury, but a necessity of the spiritual if not of the physical life, an opening of those magic casements through which we can catch a glimpse of that country where ultimate reality will be found.    RVW, 1948
