However, the irony is that I cannot think of any country / nation that has done more to boost its composers, via concerts, broadcasting and the press than the UK. It's become more or less a joke that anything that Gramophone or the BBC says about British performers and composers should be taken with a grain of salt. I believe the Proms, for instance, have long been a platform to promote the composers you like.

The other thing is there are plenty of British composers who wrote for economically feasible forces. You seem to favor the ones who priced themselves out of the market by writing huge Icaric works. I understand your advocacy and don't see any need to poke fun of it.
