Welcome from me too. John Kinsella is an Irish composer whose music I greatly admire.

Hello, Seán - love the avatar (and miss him greatly). Recently I got to meet one of your compatriots, the composer Gerald Barry, who was in town for his opera, The Importance of Being Earnest (wonderful, by the way). And also (perhaps not very Beethoven-esque), I'm also a fan of the composer Donnacha Dennehy and the Crash Ensemble.

In any case, hope you enjoy yourself here - many interesting people, listening to a lot of different kinds of music!

Hi Bruce, I am glad you enjoyed Barry's opera and got a chance to meet him too.  I am not familiar with Dennehy's work I'm afraid.  Thanks for the warm welcome.

A J Potter is another fine Irish composer. I love his Symphony 'De Profundis'.

So Seán, can you explain to an ignorant frenchman from where does the accent on your name comes from.  I am curious to find the root of this Gaelicness !!
I am also curious to know how you like the various Gaelic music there is...
