Tony, your over the top reactions are always a good indication that something really good lies behind ;)

I think so, too. The other one could be "Hamlet" with Richard Burton.

Yes, you're both right No.4 Is Naked and No.5 is indeed Hamlet though that is not Burton but Innokenti Smoktunovsky.

So, the last two would be:

4. Mike Leigh - Naked (1993)

5. Grigori Kozintsev - Gamlet / Hamlet (1964)

Well, then I am *not* right! I really thought it is Burton. Interestingly, his Hamlet movie is from around the same time plusminus a year or two.

Ok, you were partially right (Leigh), could you now pop over to Karajan thread and tell me is that french album live or not?

Well, Andre got the most right, I think, so if he wants to put up the next round he's welcome.

Though if anyone else wants to try please do.

Hurry Andre.....this has become one of my favorite threads!
There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

orbital

Let me put up one as we wait for Andre.

Well, it's only over-the-top to those who hated it less than I did. My reaction is honest, and I honestly have trouble believing that anyone could think of it as more than just a backwater piece of philistine garbage.
