Do I need it all or just the quartets?

If I need it all, is Moscow Quartet/Trio on Brilliant a great choice?

If I just need the quartets, Borodin? Borodin EMI or Borodin Chandos?

I should add that I only want one recording. And I want a great one. Hoping you guys can help.  :)

You will also need CD's of both a Russian and a German performance of each work for contrast.

The 3 CD set on Brilliant is a great way to get a complete survey of the chamber music. The piano quintet in particular is a revelation from this composer. My only proviso would be that the recording of the piano trio isn't great - I am trying to find a better one, but the work is very rare on record.

This one is what I have, and you're right - a very good set.

I don't know the Brilliant set but at least the two quartets (the considerably less familiar 1st one is as good as the 2nd) deserve a great performance, like the one(s) by the eponymous quartet.

I should add, I also need a supplement of the string sextet (incomplete, two mvts), as the andante is really much too fast. Here is a comparison of timings in this movement:
