Any IRC music listening/chatting locations?

I use to frequent a few IRC type places where folks would listen to music and chat about it and whatever else.  I learned a lot from that environment, and I was wondering if anybody knows if anything like that exists out there.  The places I'm thinking were on sites like Plug (now defunct) and Tinychat (the specific chatroom is now dead--probably for good).  So yeah...  Is there anywhere like this out there?

A few people on here use Twitter and Facebook but that's all I've heard of. I don't know of anyone who uses IRC; that said, you could set up a server or whatever and invite people to join it. I'm sure this forum has its share of social media-minded individuals. (Just not sure if it would be the kind of thing endorsed by the board owners, or whether it would count as advertisement.)

Mmm, yes whether or not asking about or advertising this kind of thing is against the forum rules is something I wasn't sure about.  I really mean no disrespect to the forum rules, and if I'm breaking them I did so unintentionally and fully understand the deletion of this thread.  I won't be upset, rules are rules.  That said, there was a site that some cool people use to hang out at and that is Tinychat.com/classicallisten

A handful of people that I'm sure many people here know use to frequent that site.  I don't feel comfortable naming names simply because I haven't been in contact with them and don't know if they would appreciate it.  In any case, I use to frequent it very much and had a great time listening and talking about music.  I ended up having a schedule where I worked nights 5 days a week (I still have that schedule) and whether do to my own inactivity or various factors it basically died during that time, and it remains dead to this day.  I have very fond memories of being able to listen to music and talk about it in real time, as well as ask questions about classical music or really anything else in real time.  I don't find that I do well in a forum setting conversationally; the way I type and think tends to be more stream of conscious and lends itself to real time IRC chatting rather than forums in which I feel compelled to talk more formally and have more thought out responses.  I enjoy reading forums, but posting on them, to me, is irksome for many reasons that I won't go into now.

Anyway, if anybody wants to join the room I mentioned that would be great.  Even better would be if somebody was a part of an already active community of this kind.  It's much easier to join something already active than to attempt to resurrect something dead, after all. Once again I want to stress that I don't mean this inquiry as a slight against this forum. I like this forum and would continue to read and post occasionally whether or not a found an IRC community for classical music on the internet.  In fact, finding such a place would likely encourage me to post more often on this forum, particularly if the people in the community were also active on this forum.
