When Donald Trump ran for president in 2015, he had 19 companies paying him to put the Trump name on their products. Now, only two are left.

So, the media-circus president pardons Scooter Libby.

He had to have gotten the idea from some pinhead on Fox News . . . .

On the day he scorched James Comey as being a leaker, in relation to the release of Comey´s book, he pardons someone who was convicted of leaking information ...

"President Trump calls ex-FBI Director James Comey an 'untruthful slime ball', who 'should be prosecuted'"

The GOP have given over the Rule of Law for the stain of Trump.

Not a soul among the Republican Congressional bench will object.  Spineless is a tame word for this lot.

Ha.. the abolition of Electoral College will never happen.   That topic was vigorously debated in the Federalist papers.  That is why we have the Senate... otherwise,  abolish the electoral college and the US Senate...  in other to do that would require a re write of the US Constitution which will never happen.... sorry....

That's sort of out of left-field.

No, it's not likely to happen, but stranger things have happened. And I don't see why the Senate would have to be abolished in order to replace the electoral college.

There is a workaround that would make the Presidential election based on popular vote without any change to the constitution. There is nothing in the constitution specifying how the electoral votes are decided, that is up to the individual states. Suppose New York passes a law that says,

QuoteThe electoral votes of the state of New York will be cast for the candidate that has the largest number of votes, nationally. This law takes effect when states possessing a majority of electoral votes has passed an identical measure. Otherwise electoral votes are based on the popular vote in the state of New York.

If enough states adopt this rule for it to kick in, the presidential election is determined by popular vote, even with the existing electoral college.

According to Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump is beginning to not ever have heard of Michael Cohen, who has said he's willing to take a bullet for Trump, so....bang?

Yes, but Trump's lawyers showed up today at Cohen's motion to keep the fed's eyes off of his records, tapes, computers and every other data storage device he didn't manage to destroy before they raided his premises. Trump seems to be really worried about whatever data Cohen might have. Supposedly Trump called him today. I hope the line is tapped. It should be.

Remember the attempt to discredit the Russia dossier's claim that Michael Cohen was in Prague during 2016 coordinating the disinformation campaign with the Russian's? Cohen denied being there during that period, and this was taken as proof that the dossier was bogus. Well, McClatchy is reporting tonight that Cohen lied and that he was in Prague when the dossier said he was (August, 2016) — and that Mueller has evidence of this. In support of his denial, Cohen offered as evidence the fact that his passport shows no stamp from the Czech Republic. But there now seems to be evidence that he got there from Germany, over an open border requiring no passport.

No!! Cohen pays off porn stars so it's Unconstitutional that Mueller should investigate TrumPutin stuff related to an attorney that has a client. If a law degree doesn't mean attoneys and clients can't do crimes together what is this country coming to?

Interesting.
Also, besides Cohen possibly meeting the Kremlin link Konstantin Kosachev in Prague, the Russian hacker Yevgeniy Nikulin (who was recently extracted to US custody from the Czech Republic) was probably in Prague at that time.

Correct. I pased this border four times, a couple of weeks ago; never even saw any customs check.

It's a sign of the Trumpocalypse! As the prophets foretold, when the missiles cast their shadows over Damascus and the weekend news cycle, the wrath of the Almighty is nigh upon them. For they have bathed in the heathen pee of harlots, consorted with silicone succubi and conjured the lying demons of Prague, so that even fools must now see their perfidy. And it is further foretold that on the third day they will vie with the avenging angels and seek to purge them from the heavens and blunt the sword of divine justice. But verily they shall be cast down unto the very shitholes of hell, their names cursed down the ages, their unclean children driven forth into the wilderness, their bones picked clean by indignant desert birds and strip-mall lawyers. And what rough Veep, his hour come round at last, slouches toward Washington to be sworn?

What should scare Trump most isn't the Deep State — it's the Regular State

I would put it differently, that what Trump fears about the Regular State is why he needs it to be "Deep". It's his (heh!) theory of the case.

Trump's miserable crew has never been so desperate

Regardless how Mueller's investigation ends, Trump will one day leave Washington. And when he does, the steady stream of attacks on Justice Department professionals, FBI agents and all the honorable men and women who daily defend Americans against enemies foreign and domestic will forever stain the reputations of Trump's most shameless apologists. All this for a man who has spent decades showing loyalty to little else but his ravenous pursuit of money and fame.

There are rational reasons to be a Trump apologist, chiefly that one has been a Trump apologist dating to when it looked like the winning side. I thought since Inaugurpeachment and even before that a disaster of the kind that's happening was likely, and many others thought so as well. Trump is what he appeared to be all along. So the apologists don't really have a good move. What would that be? I'm sorry, I was wrong, now I see what a thug he is. Can I be a Rat, please?

No, I don't think a Rat Rehab Program is in the cards.

U.S. Will Announce New Sanctions on Russia After Syria Attack

http://time.com/5240848/us-russia-sanctions-syria-attack/

In the meantime, another journalist in Russia murdered. Maksim Borodin of RIA Novy Den "fell" from the fifth floor. He had been investigating Vagner, the private military company managed by Putin's friend whose mercenaries are fighting on Asad's behalf in Syria.

The mustard seems to get stronger these days.
